Olive Green Consulting is a leading consulting and training firm focusing on project management, programme management, research, business development and management consulting. We aim to grow into a leading consultancy in Africa, creating sustainable and effective solutions for challenges in the construction industry and other sectors. Our mission is to provide sustainable improvement for our clients across our service areas, leading to an overall improvement in their organisations.

Our aim at Olive Green is to constantly go beyond the current state-of-the-art thinking and to constantly develop and apply innovative thinking and develop best-in-class solutions to issues in our chosen fields. We aim to be recognised as leading problem solvers providing sustainable and beneficial solutions across the entire construction and infrastructure life cycle, in business management thinking and in economic development.

Project and programme management

Our project and programme management services provide the requisite support so clients can seamlessly achieve the ultimate objectives of their programmes and projects. Such support includes audits, review and assessment; project portfolio management and consolidation; implementation support; monitoring and evaluation; feasibility studies; value and risk management; sustainability and capacity building.

Institutional development and capacity building

We support our clients in improving or turning around their portfolio, programme and project management, by working on their: • Project management methodologies, systems and processes, • technical and soft skills, • governance and strategic management, • controls, monitoring and reporting • knowledge management We also help our clients establish Project Management Offices (PMOs) and equip them with the resources, skills and best practice needed to achieve organisational goals.

Research, management consulting and business development

We carry out research and business analysis, identify problems and develop relevant solutions; support strategic formulation and development; and devise and implement organisational development initiatives. Our research that delivers real insights and provides the basis for sound strategic advice, framework development, policy formulation and implementation, and problem solving in all sectors. From that basis, our experience and skills extend to management consulting, impact assessments, strategy development and data mining.

Asset management

We assist in the development and maintenance of viable Assets Registers to assist the public sector in inventory and asset management in line with GIAMA, and policies and procedures of the National Treasury. We also design convenient and effective systems to help institutions account for and manage their facilities accordingly

Summary of Experience

George has more than 23 years’ experience in infrastructure development, management consulting, business development and research. He has extensive experience in project financial analysis, structuring and modelling; projects audits and evaluation; and in impact assessments and planning.

George’s work experience includes providing transaction advisory services a number of public-private partnership projects across education, health, infrastructure, commercial and housing sectors. He has also provided policy analysis and formulation support to governments and statutory bodies on a wide range of construction industry issues, with emphasis on infrastructure and economic development projects, enterprise and industry development.

George has a strategic overview of the Africa construction environment, having worked as the Research and Thought Leadership Manager: Africa for one of the world’s largest construction services firms involving the strategic analysis of sub-Saharan Africa countries covering economic growth, sector analysis, and strategic opportunities for investment.

Summary of Experience

Qaqamba has 9 years’ experience on various phases of construction projects including design development phase, tender documentation and procurement phase, construction documentation and management phase as well as the project close out phase. She has worked on retail and commercial building projects and later moved to mechanical, piping and civil projects as Construction Manager on Sasol and Eskom projects, handling chemical industrial sites as well as thermal energy and electrification projects. In her current role, Qaqamba has learnt and applied business development and implementation skills, contracting strategy skills, capital project risk management skills, cost engineering skills, project control skills as well as supplier management and administration abilities.

Qaqamba is registered as a Professional Construction Manager (Pr. CM) with the South African Council of Project and Construction Management Professions.

In line with her keen desire to continuously develop and empower herself and those around her, Qaqamba is currently working on her MSc. Project Management (Construction) from the University of Pretoria.

Summary of Experience Eng. Remigious Makumbe has many years of experience as an advisor on Infrastructure and Regional Integration and a Consultant for regional, continental and global bodies. He was formerly the Director, Infrastructure and Services at the SADC Secretariat, Gaborone, Botswana, responsible for the entire SADC Regional Infrastructure Programme (policy, regulatory, capacity building, standards and rollout of the SADC Regional Infrastructure Development Master Plan).

Remigious was also Chief Director of all SADC Programmes from 2006 to 2009, where he exercised oversight on the Directorate of Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment; Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources amongst others. He was also Chairperson of the Senior Officials of the COMES-EAC-SADC Tripartite Programme which developed and implemented the Industrialisation, Infrastructure, Customs and Trade Pillars of the Tripartite.

Eng. Makumbe has undertaken numerous advisory assignments on Infrastructure and Regional Integration, including: • Improving Transport Connectivity for Land locked Developing Countries and the Status of the Vienna Programme of Action for Landlocked States in Africa • Assistance to the Global Water Partnership – Southern Africa on the the Africa Water Infrastructure Investment Programme • Facilitation of the NEPAD Regional Integration, Infrastructure and Trade Programme and • A Stakeholder • Assessment Report on the SADC Simplified Trade Regime” for International Cross Border Traders for the Southern Africa Trust

He has extensive experience with implementation of infrastructure projects in the SADC region and played an advisory role to the SADC management on the effective implementation of the SADC infrastructure programme, industrialisation and the regional integration programme (2005 – 2016)
